The Vision, Story and Plans of Roaring Wind Foundation

Dear Brother(s)/Sister(s) in Christ,

It is a great privilege for me to greet you with love on behalf of  Roaring Wind Foundation, Hungary. With this information we would like to give an insight to other members of the Body of Christ into a portion of what God is doing in this part of the earth, because we believe that there is only one Bride of the Lamb and we can accomplish our Father's universal plans only together. The ministries at different places ultimately are connected to one another. So it's good to know what the others are doing. This story, at some points maybe a little personal in tone, but it can serve as an encouragement, too, since it reveals God's wonderful ways.

The Beginnings: Roaring Wind had its conception in 1990 after a Christian group of about 20 people attended the Lisbon EURO-FIRE Conference. We have known the ministry of the team of evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and the character of  EURO-FIRE Conferences since '87 when another group of believers attended the first event like that in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Several of our brothers and sisters returned home from there totally renewed or healed and began to see things in quite a different way. They bought some of the video tapes of the Conference in the original German and English languages, of course. After they came home other members of their Churches began to watch the tapes marvelling: "Can Christianity be like that?" They watched the cassettes in groups as VCRs and colour TV sets were rare at that time; everybody brought something, they connected the equipment and watched the programs with great zeal. Among the audience there always had to be somebody who could translate the essence to those present. As there were only these few copies available, very few people could get acquainted with these materials. But those, who got to know them, were greatly impressed by them. We that were among the lucky ones who saw the tapes, felt that everybody should know them. But for anybody, anywhere, anytime, to be able to enjoy them the Hungarian translation has to be on the tape itself.

In Lisbon we deliberately bought the whole Conference on video. The sessions that were recorded only on audio we bought on audio. After we returned we did what we had planned before: a technician and an interpreter came together. Brothers supporting the idea lent their VCRs, we put stereo mikes on a stand, we mixed the original sound with the Hungarian dubbing via an audio deck. We put a sign on the doorbell: "Don't ring, don't knock! Dubbing in progress! Thank you!" We hid the phone under a blanket. One VCR played the program, the other three or four recorded the Hungarian version. Without any previous education or practice in this area the work began. The technician brother worked in three shifts at that time at his workplace. When he worked at night we "dubbed" during daytime. He made great sacrifices. The blank tapes were always bought by the people who wanted a copy of the program or by those who had money at the moment. The translated cassettes were not of hi-fi quality as we worked in VHS but they poured blessing, the anointing spread through them. Several people were healed watching them! We realised that if just these members of these few Churches were happy with these cassettes, then the whole of Hungary would be, moreover the Hungarians living beyond the borders of Hungary and the other peoples of the ex-Communist East-Europe, too, if they only could get to know them in their own languages. But we knew that we could only work on such a scale and involving such large areas, officially, legally well founded and in commercial quality. Finally, after much discussion, thinking, prayer and many attempts Roaring Wind Foundation was born on 5th May 1992. The name was first pronounced by one of our first fellow-workers so naturally and spontaneously that it could only come from God. We couldn't have found any better name ever since, it so well expresses vitality and longing for doing the perfect will of the Holy Spirit.
We asked CfaN for permission and SVHS master tapes and we received them by a miracle, because we've learned since then that even Christian organisations don't easily grant things like that. Today we have prospering business relationships with several other Western Christian ministries and these days other, hopefully fruitful, co-operations are beginning between other organisations and Roaring Wind. We are looking forward to receiving answers to our inquiries from several more publishers. We trust God's guidance; we believe we have to enter the doors He opens and if He doesn't open one we'd better not break it in (but it doesn't mean we have to give up when the enemy hinders a relationship. We have to listen to the Holy Spirit carefully.) We think these kinds of relationships are sealed in heaven, too, and they fit into the Lord's cosmic plans. We are grateful to our Father when He makes us favourable in the eyes of others.
